1. How will a Dietary Alert Card help me manage my diet and make the most of eating out?

DietaryCard's creator, Sandra Russell, started to provide Dietary Alert Cards in response to her coeliac best friend's difficulties in eating out, especially when on foreign holidays but even when in restaurants in Scotland. She had difficulty in explaining her gluten-free diet discretely, either because of language barriers or just through the waiting staff's unfamiliarity (or lack of discretion) in responding to ‘special requests’.

Now Nan can simply pass her Dietary Alert Card in the appropriate translation to the waiter or waitress, who helps her choose an appropriate meal from the set menu or passes the card on to the chef or kitchen staff so that they can prepare a risk-free meal.

Nan doesn't need to stick to English-speaking restaurants, or return to the same ‘safe’ eating place time and time again, or be embarrassed by the fuss previously caused in drawing attention to her needs - she can eat as exotically as she likes, as far off the beaten track as she pleases, because Sandra has taken the ‘ordeal out of ordering’ for her.

Find out how holidaymakers & business travellers on gluten-free & other special diets are using their Dietary Alert Cards to take the ordeal out of ordering.
